Colin Callander - Editorial Director

Colin (50) is a former Editor of Golf Monthly magazine and has been involved in the golf business since the early 1980s. He joined Golf Monthly as an Assistant Editor in 1983 after a period working in newspapers with DC Thomson in his native Scotland and then became Deputy Editor in 1985. He was elevated to the Editor’s role in 1990 and he was to remain in that post until 2000 when he moved into the field of freelance journalism. Colin had worked with Neil Gray at Golf Monthly during the 1990s and in late 2001 they teamed up to form GMS. Since that time, in addition to his work at GMS, Colin has worked as Press Office on the European Seniors Tour, acted as an expert golf summariser on BBC Radio, collaborated with Colin Montgomerie on the former European No. 1’s instructional book, The Thinking Man’s Golfer, and written for The Daily Telegraph, The Scotsman, Golf International, National Club Golfer and many other leading golf titles. A single figure golfer, Colin is a member of four golf clubs, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, the Elie Golf House Club, Welwyn Garden City and Forfar and is an avid supporter of Stevenage Borough Football Club.
