En Route to First LET Win

Renowned Danish shoemaker ECCO announces that Emma Zackrisson wore its distinctive Casual Pitch Ribbon golf shoe this past weekend while capturing her first Ladies European Tour title at the Open de Espana Femenino at in Panoramica Golf and Country Club in Castellon, Spain.

Competing in strong winds and intermittent downpours, the 29-year-old posted a five-under-par 67 in the second round to take the lead. She followed with consecutive 71s for a total of seven-under-par 281, good enough for a four stroke victory over Joanne Mills, Diana Luna and defending champion Nikki Garrett.

“I did not expect this coming in,” Zackrisson said just after holing out to claim the €41,250 first prize. “I played so well and it felt so easy for me, really. Everything just worked. I’d been struggling and finally it all came together. It’s unbelievable.”

Part of ECCO’s Spring/Summer 2008 women’s golf collection, Zackrisson’s shoe of choice combines colorful textile bands which are integrated into the lacing system to provide a customized fit. The Casual Pitch Ribbon also features a luxurious upper pairing textured ECCO “Lizard” and smooth “Pinnacle II” leathers atop a direct-injected, PU-constructed midsole/outsole.

“Emma is among the scores of Tour players worldwide who choose ECCO because they know our shoes help them perform the best in the most demanding conditions,” says Jesper Thuen, Sponsor and Event Manager, ECCO Golf.
